The Guild became a non-profit corporation whose purpose is threefold:

  • To foster appreciation of quilts and the art of quilting amount both quilters and the public.
  • To increase the knowledge of traditional and contemporary techniques of quilting and to provide an encouraging environment in which quiltsers can practice and exchange ideas.
  • To educate the public as to the significance and history of quilting as an art form as well as an ongoing craft.
The New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild was founded on April 17, 1982. In 1994, the Guild became a non-profit corporation.
New Braunfels has a "small town feel" and is known for its Old World German heritage.  It is located in the Texas Hill Country, a region abundant with lakes, rivers, wildflowers, trees, wildlife, and rolling hills. If you love quilts and the art of quilt-making, be our guest at one of our monthly meetings.
