Events & Activities

  1. Boutique
The New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild Boutique features items created by quilt guild members. All of these items are new, unique, and one-of-a-kind. This is a fundraiser that supports the Guild’s many community activities. Items in this booth include: bed quilts, lap quilts, wall hangings, table runners, pillowcases, zipper bags, hot pads, and other items. Cash or credit is accepted.
  2. Antique Bed Turning
A “bed turning” is like a modern day “show and tell.” in the past, women would gather to share their work. As each quilt was presented, the maker would tell its story, including information about the pattern, fabric, and family history. The quilts presented at the bed-turning are more than 50 years old and include stories that are part of the heritage of that family. See the program at the show for the schedule.
  3. Quilts for Sale
The Quilters Resale store, located across the hall from the Exhibit Hall, is exactly what the name implies—items with lots of life left in them. Second-chance items include: fabrics (yardage, fat quarters, and pre-cuts), quilt kits, quilt patterns, quilting rulers, batting, notions, books, sewing machines, yarn, embroidery materials, and other items for sale. All proceeds support the Guild’s programs and community service projects.
  4. Concessions
Although there are many wonderful restaurants in New Braunfels, hot and cold foods are available for sale at the show. Relax in the Concessions area and enjoy a meal before returning to the quilts, vendors, and presentations.
  5. Presentations
Many of the vendors will be demonstrating tools and materials on the small stage in the Ballroom. Once you arrive at the show, look for the program for a list of presenters.
  6. Vendors
A variety of vendors will be selling everything from fabric to gadgets.
